Christy Canavan
Consumer Director
Christy is a graduate from University of Limerick with a Degree in Business Studies. Christy has held a number of senior commercial roles in the FMCG sector and is now the Consumer Director heading business units such as Pemberton, Profitlines, Intrapharma and Blackhall.
David Ruane
Head of Sales & Marketing
David is a graduate from UCD Michael Smurfit Business School with a Masters in Leadership and Management Practice. Before joining United Drug, David held senior commercial roles in the retail, fashion and FMCG sectors. David works closely with all areas of the business to ensure we are delivering on our mission to deliver service excellence and value to our customers and principals.
Rachel Byas
Consumer Distribution Manager
Rachel joined the business in 1996, her unrivalled experience and insight into internal systems and processes is key to the successful integration of our distribution brands into the business. Rachel works daily with our Principals and leverages her established relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure the Consumer division is delivering excellence in supply chain management for our partner brands.
Christine Flynn
Consumer Brands Manager
Christine joined United Drug in 2001 and has worked in a number of key commercial roles within the business. Over the last 13 years Christine has headed up Profitlines. Utilising her extensive experience and key relationships Christine works continuously with leading brands across all categories to ensure that Profitlines delivers a best in class and profitable offering for our pharmacy customers.
John Ryan
Sales Manager
With over 30 years’ experience in the FMCG sector John brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to the role of Consumer Sales Manager. John's extensive relationships and industry insights enable him to drive a truly Customer First approach to account management. John works tirelessly to ensure that the sales team are delivering both the products and services required to meet our customers ever evolving needs.
Nichola Carr
E-Commerce & Digital Lead
A member of the United Drug Consumer team since 2009, Nichola’s industry experience and extensive business knowledge, aligned with her digital expertise, are key to the successfully implementation of our digital strategy. Nichola’s customer first approach ensures that all communications and websites are designed to add value and increase access for our customers to our partner brands.
Maura Cronin
Intrapharma Team Manager
Maura joined United Drug in 2002 and has over 20 years sales and key account management experience. Over this time Maura has seen and embraced plenty of change in the pharmacy sector and takes great pride in meeting and adapting to her customers evolving needs. Maura’s product knowledge is second to none and she is seen as an industry expert in the baby category appearing on social media and speaking at in store events.
Lorna Kerr
Pemberton Team Manager
Lorna joined the team in January 2023 holding an honours degree in Pharmaceutical Science from DCU. Having over eight years of sales experience, five of which in the Pharmacy retail sector, Lorna uses a consultative selling method to help customers increase profits and grow their business.
Nessa Campbell
Republic of Ireland Key Account Manager
A graduate of Dublin Institute of Technology, Nessa joined United Drug in 2010 in the role of Leinster area sales representative. Moving to her current position as Key Account Manager in 2018, Nessa leverages the relationships she has established over the last 10 years and her sectorial knowledge to maximise the potential of the United Drug Consumer portfolio within our retail partner’s outlets.
Norma Laverty
Northern Ireland Account Manager
Norma brings over 30 years’ sales management experience to the role of Northern Ireland Territory Manager. As a people person Norma is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and whether working with large retail groups or independent pharmacies, Norma draws on her product expertise and sectoral knowledge to develop bespoke JBPs tailored to each retailers specific needs.
Emmet Baldwin
Grocery Division Key Account Manager
A graduate from the Marketing Institute of Ireland, Emmet joined United Drug in 2012. Emmet has spent his whole career in the FMCG sector holding a number of sales and marketing management roles with well-known brands. This invaluable multi-channel experience is key to how Emmet approaches his role as Key Account Manager, where he works closely with our principals and key accounts to develop JBPs that deliver the maximum sales performance from our portfolio of brands in store.
Emma Boyce
Brand Manager
Emma joined the business in 2019 and is a graduate of Dublin Business School holding a degree in Marketing & PR. Leveraging over 10 years’ experience in marketing and brand management Emma works closely with local and international brands to deliver sales and marketing strategies that maximise their exposure and presence in the Irish market place.
Hannah Caffrey
Marketing Executive
Hannah joined the UDC in 2023. She is a graduate of Carlow University where she studied Business Management. She has previously worked in marketing and operations for a distributor and also as buying assistant for a large retail group.
Anna Repetska
Brand Manager
Anna joined the team in July 2022 and is a graduate of Kyiv Polytechnic University and National Pedagogical University, holding degrees in Arts and Economics. Anna has Solid background in the pharmaceutical industry in project management, marketing, and export. Anna has joined our team as Brand Manager within the Sales & Marketing function and now works closely with our international brands to deliver successful campaigns to the local market.
Kerry Perris
Marketing Executive
Kerry joined the team in October 2023 and is a graduate of University College Dublin , with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science. Kerry has a number of years’ experience working in local pharmacies which has allowed her great insight into customer’s needs. Kerry joined our team as Marketing Executive role within the Sales & Marketing function and works closely with a variety of international brands to bring the brands to life in the Irish Market.
Andrea McGowan
Consumer Sales Executive
Andrea joined the business in 2013 and works closely with sales management on a day to day basis, delivering support to the field sales team to ensure they have the sales tools and assets they need. Andrea also coordinates our Christmas Collection working closely with all stakeholders to deliver an extensive offering to meet our customer’s needs.
Matthew Byrne
Profitlines Sales & Marketing Executive
Matthew joined the Profitlines Team in September 2023 from college, after completing his BA in Advertising and Marketing Communications. From college and working throughout his course, Matthew has already worked with clients and his work experience to date, includes management and process improvement, working to deadlines that all are required for the Profitlines Business.
Niamh Foran
Distribution Executive
Niamh joined United Drug in January 2016 and held the position of Consumer Customer Service supervisor before joining the Profitlines team in September 2020. Since then she has now joined the distribution team, Niamh’s extensive experience in customer and principal relationship management and internal systems knowledge are key to ensuring that United Drug Consumer continues to deliver value for our customers.

With over 11 years’ pharmacy industry experience, Paul has been a key member of the Pemberton team since 2014. Covering the Munster region Paul has formed fantastic relationships with his customers and ensures that they are constantly updated on the Pemberton Portfolio and latest offers.

Eddie joined United Drug in 2014 since then has been a key member of the Blackhall division and more recently the Pemberton division, serving our customers in the West/North West. With almost 30 years’ sales experience, Eddie gets great satisfaction from making his customers happy and works in collaboration with the wider United Drug Consumer team to ensure we are providing the products and service required to achieve this.
Martin Spillane
Intrapharma Southern Area Sales Rep
Martin holds a Diploma in Marketing and has in excess of 25 years’ sales experience in the pharmacy sector. Since joining United Drug in 2013, Martin has been the Munster representative for the Intrapharma division. During that time Martin has built up strong and lasting relationships with his customers by ensuring that they receive the product and service they require to maximise their front of shop performance.

A graduate of Letterkenny IT, Mervyn joined United Drug in 2005. Originally covering Northern Ireland and the border counties, Mervyn has been in his current role covering the North West, West and Midlands for almost 15 years and in that time he has established a strong and lasting bond with his customers. Mervyn is invested in the success of his customers and loves bringing exciting brands to them and helping them grow and develop these in store.

Teresa joined United Drug in 2019. With many years’ retail management and training experience, Teresa utilises her expertise in category and product knowledge to deliver industry led training and education across our portfolio of brands to our pharmacy partners and their teams. Teresa’s professional and personable approach to training creates an environment for knowledge sharing and engagement with the store teams she works with.

Product Trainer
Amanda has been delivering excellence in training for the last 20 years and joined the United Drug consumer team in 2019. Amanda’s product and category knowledge along with her confidence and enthusiasm are key to delivering motivational and engaging training to our retail partner’s teams. Amanda goes beyond the individual product to deliver valuable insights into the wider category, which in turn arms the trainee to deliver meaningful and informed advice to the consumer.
